The (majestic) land of books

A few months ago, I decided that this was the year to read all of Haruki Murakami's novels. I'm nowhere near that goal, but I'm in awe of his staggering imagination. Kafka on the Shore is a must-read. I simply love Mimi the talking siamese cat and all the other characters found in this mesmerizing novel.

Sadly, Italo Calvino's The Baron in the Trees is no doubt imaginative, but sadly boring. A nobleman rebels and decides to spend the rest of his life exiled in the trees. Wow.....exciting....well, not really.
