A few weeks ago, I caught an enchanting interview with Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt and decided to read his work. Oscar et la dame rose revolves around a terminally ill boy who is encouraged to write letters to God [how did he get the address???]. While at times a little too formulistic, overall, it was a sweet read.
