You have so prodded my childhood memories! When I was little my parents enrolled me in a art workshop with Sister Corita. I was not more than 5 or 6 but I remember making colorful block prints. Also, my first art class was a finger-painting class held inside the Hollyhock House at Barnsdall Art Park. Yes, 4 year olds, lots of tempura paint and handprints —in a Frank Lloyd Wright house. My parents were amazing people. I had Sister Corita posters all over my walls in the 60's, she was great influence!! Thank you for reminding me of some the happiest times of growing up.

What a lovely childhood story. To be immersed in such life-long creativity and encouragement, which based on your blog and work, has never dissipated is quite enchanting. Thank you for sharing. Also, I couldn't help noticing that one of your blog post mentioned that your cultural background is Italian-American. More points to you, design nomad, more points to you. (:
