While I will save you all from a critical race analysis rant, but I despise this book. I've owned this book for over a year now, and I can't handle reading more than 3 pages in one sitting. These concepts are not only unfounded, but problematic as it purports a racialized understanding of Canada as "White" and "European" (i.e. who becomes synonymous with the image as Canada’s “nation-builders”) and equally denies the realities and aims of the Italian Diaspora. Italian-Canadian scholarship has finally gone off the deep end.
