Musical interlude of the week: Fred Pellerin

My maternal language is French (franco-ontarienne from northern ontario). I grew up resisting French-Canadian music because I found so much of it was shockingly bad (Céline Dion or Garou, anyone? Je dirais non merci. . . non, non, non, non Monsieur, je ne vous connais pas, non Monsieur, surtout n'insistez pas). Yet, Pellerin's renditions of some of the classics takes my breath away. What a shockingly beautiful album.
